I am a Resource Management student at Central Washington University. That about sums up my life. No, no. Just kidding. I am very excited to start work on my thesis. I will be doing research on free-roaming horses. It will be interesting to finally see them in person, and their impacts first hand, rather than just reading about it. It will also be a journey of learning and I hope that what I learn has beneficial use for future management decisions.
Aside from school, I have a toddler at home. She's the most amazing little person in the entire world. I never really knew love until she entered my life. Now, not only do I know love, but I know fear. I can honestly say I've never been more afraid than I have been since she was born. I used to be fearless! It's amazing what a child can do to the structure of your life. But, when things seem hopeless, a sloppy kiss and a hug are the best cure in the world.
My other child is a thousand pound goofball of a horse. I haven't had much time for him the last few years, but he's a constant and I can't imagine not having him in my life. He's my best friend. My therapist. My ticket to a few moments of freedom when we're hell bent for speed.
That about sums me up. Grad student. Mom. Horsewoman.
